Do you remember the “barbecue summer” that we never had? That great work of classic fiction was the first in a series of two produced in 2009. The same author, the UK’s Met Office, also gave us “2009-10 will be a mild winter”.

Unusually for the BBC, Andrew Neil grilled John Hirst, head of the Met Office, about the organisation’s projections last night.

I find your comments about wind power illinformed to the point of being offensive. Your bullying self opinionated style does not help and encourage people to discuss the issues - your mind is clearly made up - so that's it end of .. I won't waste any more time with you
